Did You Know?-NPDB Data Analysis Tool

If you ever wanted to know if there was an increase in malpractice payments for MDs over the past 5 years, NPDB has a tool for that. How about the number of actions reported to the NPDB for MDs vs DOs broken down by type? This is the tool for that.
The NPDB has a tool that allows you to generate data sets for NPDB Adverse Action Reports (AAR) and Medical Malpractice Payment Reports (MMPR) submitted on practitioners for the years 1990 through 2016. The user can choose either the Adverse Action or Medical Malpractice tab and select criteria from the row and column drop down boxes to begin creating customized tables.
I think it is a nice little snapshot if you are doing research or were a little curious. Unfortunately, it is not broken out by specialty so it won't be very helpful in comparing within a particular specialty to see if there are any trends or sudden spikes.
Do you think this is a tool that you could find useful?
